Admissions Procedure

A parent or guardian enquiring about a place for their child at Emmanuel Christian School should address all initial enquiries to the school secretary, Mrs Heather Stirzaker.  For general enquiries you can contact her by telephone on 01253 882873 or by e-mail at admin@emmanuel-christian-school.co.uk. For specific admission enquiries please refer to ‘contact us’ page.

She will require information about your child including his or her date of birth, current school year and, if applicable, details of any provision he or she requires.  If there are any additional needs indicated, the school’s Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) may also wish to discuss these with you at this stage.  This will help us to deal with your enquiry effectively.

As appropriate you will be sent a prospectus and invited to visit the school with your child to meet the Head teacher.  You will also have opportunity to view the school.

Should you wish to proceed with an application for admission, arrangements will be made for your child to spend a ‘guest day’ at the school.  Your child will have a ‘buddy’ assigned to help them feel at ease throughout their day.  During the day some informal assessments will be made.

If all conditions are favourable in accordance with our admissions policy and other relevant factors, we will confirm a conditional place for your child usually within 5 working days of the child’s visit to the school.

Parents or guardians will then be asked to complete application forms and submit them, along with a registration fee, to the school office.

Arrangements will be made for a starting date for your child, if not previously agreed.  We will also provide you with details of uniform, equipment and other relevant school information.
